I’m not wishing summer away, but I am looking forward to cooler temps, cozy sweaters, and fall colors! Fall may be short-lived in Minnesota, but it is SO beautiful while it lasts! And it’s one of the busiest times of year for photos + weddings for exactly those reasons!
Our fall calendar is booking up quickly (hello, double/triple-header wedding weekends!), but we did reserve one whole weekend for our FALL MINI SESSIONS! If you’ve never booked a mini session, here are a few reasons why they’re one of our most popular sessions every year:
Short and sweet: you’re in and out within 15-20 minutes! I know photos may not be the thing everyone in your family looks forward to, so minis are a quick and easy way to get everyone to cooperate for a few photos.
Perfect for young kids with short attention spans: as a mom of two busy kids, I totally understand what it’s like to try to capture the attention of your little ones and to get them to sit nice for a photo! Bribery can only carry us through for so long before we lose them. 😂
Need updated photos: kids grow and change so fast! So if you had a baby early in the year and did newborn/family photos at that time, there’s a good chance you’re probably wanting something more recent for your holiday cards or grandma and grandpa’s Christmas gift!
You want family photos in your style: maybe you were in a wedding this year and the photographer snapped a family photo for you (amazing!), but it’s not exactly the one you want to hang on the living room wall! A mini session is a great chance to get a more casual photo of your family in the outfits and with the photographer you choose!
Seasonal photos are fun! By far, one of the most common reasons people book fall mini sessions is just to have fall photos! The outfits are fun to plan, the colors are gorgeous, and we usually don’t have to worry about mosquitoes. 😉
Before we move on to the details, a quick note that mini sessions are great for groups of 2-5 but for family photoshoots with many generations (extended family) or larger families, we recommend a full family session so everyone has a nice selection of photos to choose from and we have time to capture them all!
