In honor of National Proposal Day, I thought it would be fun to share our story from the day that Caleb proposed to me!
I can easily say that it was one of the best days of my life! It was so special and a memory that I will treasure forever.
Caleb and I started dating knowing that our intention was to get married. We didn’t have a timeline or a plan for how everything was going to happen, but we knew that we didn’t want to date without purpose.
I knew that there was a good chance Caleb would be proposing within the next month or so…
Every morning I would wonder if that day would be the day that Caleb was going to propose, to say the least, I was always sitting on eggshells!
Caleb knows that I’m not a big fan of surprises and my life is usually scheduled out at least a month in advance.
This made it tough for him to plan a day for us without me being suspicious.
He told me that we had a family Christmas on December 20th out of town. I didn’t think much of it, so I put it on our calendar without another thought.
Caleb picked me up Saturday morning, December 20th, and drove to Caribou. On the drive, I started asking questions about what the plan was for the day.
He finally broke the news that we weren’t going to Christmas but we were having “The 12 Dates of Christmas”.
I was shocked! I couldn’t believe that he tricked me into thinking we had a family Christmas.
He explained to me that each date was a memory of our favorite dates we have had over our dating.
DATE #1 – Caribou
DATE #2 – West Acres Mall
DATE #3 – Texas Roadhouse
DATE #4 & 5 – Hanging out at Caleb’s place and watching movies
DATE #6 – Late night summer walks
DATE #7 – LaBarista Valentine’s Date
DATE #8 – Drives around the lake
DATE #9 – Lakes Area Vineyard Church in the production booth (Where we met!)
DATE #10 & 11 – Walking on the beach & our first kiss location
DATE #12 – McDonalds drive through ice cream… Inside joke:)
After our dates were complete, we drove back to Caleb’s grandparents house and we walked in to the most beautiful set up I have ever seen!
Caleb’s family and friends spent the day preparing for this very special moment for the two of us. It was stunning!!!
Thank you to his family and friends for doing this… it meant the world to us!
Here are a few photos!!
Caleb sang me the new song by Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud”. It was precious!
He asked me to stand and got down on one knee.
Tears streamed down my face as I listened to him ask me to be his wife.
What a wonderful moment!
I’m so thankful to have all of these memories captured by my dear friend, Abby Anderson! She did a beautiful job capturing our special moments.
We finished our time with Abby taking some photos outside… It was amazing.
Caleb… I cannot wait to be your wife in 120 days! You are a wonderful and amazing man of God!
Thank you for making our proposal such a special day that we can remember forever!
So beautiful…
