Where do we even begin with Kelsey and Brandon’s wedding?! Oh my goodness, it was such an amazing day!! Kelsey messaged me over Instagram last January to see if we would be willing to fly out to Colorado to capture their wedding day at Planet Bluegrass on Labor Day. Of course Caleb and I were absolutely thrilled!
Kelsey and Brandon met going into their sophomore year in 2009 on a youth orchestra trip overseas, so it was fitting for them to have a destination wedding since they love traveling! Planet Bluegrass is such a fun venue tucked away in the mountains near Denver, Colorado. Kelsey and her ladies (all 14 of them!) prepared for the day in a cozy bridal cabin on property. Worship music and hairspray filled the air as we walked into the room to find Kelsey getting ready! We took a handful of candid photos of the ladies then went out to capture Kelsey’s gorgeous dress and details! We hung the dress on an old silo that stood in the middle of the grounds at Planet Bluegrass. Then I decided it would be fun to capture her details on a flat rock in the river… because how cool is that?! I don’t think I’ve ever photographed details in such a unique area!
The guys had a relaxing morning getting ready for the wedding. When we arrived at the yurt, we found them eating burritos (our favorite!) and enjoying some time together before the day got going! Brandon got ready for the day and read a sweet note from his bride before heading out to see her!
The first look took place alongside the river. It was SO beautiful! Kelsey and Brandon decided they wanted to spend some time worshipping Jesus before their day together started, so they brought out their instruments and played a song together. It was precious!
Kelsey is a photographer herself, so we had plenty of portrait time throughout the wedding day built in!! A photographer and videographers dream wedding timeline! 😉 After we finished our first round of portraits with the bride and groom and bridal party, it was time for the ceremony! There were not many dry eyes throughout the ceremony… just like the rest of the day, it was perfect! Kelsey and Brandon exchanged the sweetest vows to one another and shared communion together at the alter. Everyone celebrated as they shared their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Barber!!
The rest of the evening was an absolute joy-filled celebration of Kelsey and Brandon. We watched as friends and family shared toasts, dances, and lots of laughter and hugs throughout the night! It was amazing!
